Illinois Congresswoman says handgun bans are next

Jan-SchakowskyIllinois Democratic Congresswoman Janice Schakowsky wants to make one thing very clear … the attempt to ban so-called ‘assault weapons’ is only the beginning of the planned attack on the Second Amendment.

Schakowsky made these comments to a reporter at the One Billion Rising Women’s Rights Rally in February.

Referring to the Sandy Hook tragedy as “a moment of opportunity,” Schakowsky went on to say that “everything [is] on the table … There’s no question about it. We’re on a roll now, and I think we’ve got to … push as hard as we can and as far as we can.

When pressed on exactly what that meant, Schakowsky noted that her choice for the next ban would be handguns, followed by allowing individual communities to deny Second Amendment rights to those who live or travel within their boundaries.

I am sure that, even now, she is being chastised by the White House for letting the truth slip.  But make no mistake about it … it is the truth and it is the ultimate goal of the Democratic Party.

After all, Representative Schakowsky isn’t a newly-elected rookie.  She is a member of the Democratic Party leadership, serving as Chief Deputy Whip as well as sitting on the Steering and Policy Committee which is instrumental in formulating the party platform and strategy.

So remember her words when you hear Democrats parroting the party line that they ‘support the Second Amendment subject to reasonable restrictions‘ or when your Democrat friends constantly tell you that ‘no one wants to take away your guns.

Because I have news for you … they do want to take away your semi-auto rifle … and they do want to take away your handgun.

And once they have taken those, then your single shot shotgun will suddenly become a ‘close quarters combat weapon’ and they will take that too.

Don’t believe me?  Just ask Congresswoman Schakowsky.

Congress**** Jan is one thoroughly unAmerican fruit bat

Is this the same Illinois that’s under a court mandate to implement ‘Conceal Carry’? Boy, the lawyers sure are getting ahead on this issue.

  2. Grapeshot says:

She is so out of touch with reality and what freedom means.

She needs to hear us and believe that we mean what we say with a fervor that surpasses her narrow view. We will NOT give up our right to self-defense – that is non-negotiable.

  3. Paul W of Stamford says:

This Congresswoman Janice Schakowsky sure looked like a vampire in this clip, didn’t she? Why is it that cities all across the nation, even Denver, keep “electing” all these congressional seats when clearly they’re in the minority?

  4. TSgt B says:

Well, my Dear Public Servant, BANNING is one thing; ENFORCING IT IS ANOTHER I’ve worked in Chicago too many times to count, and I ALWAYS CARRIED A GUN.

However, Jan, that won’t be a problem in the future, as I will never set foot in Illinazi again.

Hot air. This creature obviously doesn’t understand the binding nature of SCOTUS precedent, one from 1939 which holds that all arms in common use that have a reasonable relationship to the efficiency of a militia are protected (and therefore off the table), and one from 2008 that specifically names handguns as consitutionally protected.

It is difficult to listen to obdurate jackwagons like this lady (and I use the term “lady” advisedly) spout their nonsense as though they can actually defy established case law.

Another politican voted into office by the people of Illinois. Sure doesn’t say much for those people.

I believe that if they were to ban handguns, many people would consider that “crossing the line” between terrany and freedom. An armed response by a million plus citizens would be forthcoming.

  9. Luis says:

Schakowsky’s other pet project is immigration from the Third World, into the U.S. She’s big on letting illegals and Third World drek come here, claiming “humanitarian” reasons.

Excellent interview technique. I would have sworn you were a gun grabber. You got her confidence and got her to crawl out from under her rock and into the sun.

Of course she will never talk to you again but she doesn’t need to now.

  11. Wayne says:

We just need to hope that SCOTUS does not loose any members in the next four years. With the 2 already appointed by our current commander and thief, all bets are off the table as to what can and will happen. There are quite a few firearms out there. It could get real exciting out there.

Popular people with huge followings should broadcast live from in front of the residences of the ceo’s, major shareholders and politicians active in dismantling our Bill of Rights! When millions know exactly where these creeps live, all @#%@!! will be effectively channeled where it needs to be directed!
